Mother's Day weekend

Well, on Friday, right after school, Tom started complaining of stomach pains. As soon as we got home, he ran upstairs and threw up on the kitchen floor. A huge amount and very smelly. A short bit later, he threw up on the floor of his room. He missed the trash can that he had with him for this very reason.
Poor kid. Needless to say, but my weekend wasn't looking so good.
By dinner time, Tom was feeling much better, thankfully.
When we woke up Saturday morning, we did our usual talking about the plan for the day. Jay decided he couldn't do the job that needed to be done (sealing the deck) because the forecast for the day had a chance of rain. He suggested a trip to the train museum. I countered by saying I'd rather go somewhere outside. Jay said Baltimore Zoo, I countered again with National Zoo. It's been years since I have had a trip to the National Zoo. Tom was about 16 months old the last time I went. So, we ran around doing a few chores (starting some laundry, dishes, trash, etc) and then out we went.
We arrived at the Zoo at about lunch time...just in time to see Jay's dad walking out! Mark was headed back to his car to grab lunches for himself, his girlfriend, and her kids. Talk about timing! We talked for a few minutes, shared some hugs and then off we went. We had a great time, a late lunch and finally left about 6, just as everything was closing. The kids were tired by the time we left so there was some of the usual whining and fussing on the way back to the car. We grabbed a drive thru dinner just before we got home and ate at home.
On Sunday, I got breakfast in bed. Tom had made a bracelet at school and Joe had made some artwork at school for me. So very cute.
We packed up after breakfast and drove to my mom's. We hadn't visited with her for a few weeks so it was time for a visit. We had an enjoyable day at my mom's and it was a just fine day. Happy Mother's Day.
