Jay got an email from his boss's boss last week. Jay was asked to come visit him. The big boss man spent some time trying to talk Jay out of going to Australia. The big boss man seems to be worried that Jay will go to Australia and never come back. Though everyone seems to agree that foreign service is good for Jay's career, they are "grooming" him for big things apparently.
Earlier this week, the program manager approached Jay and suggested that he put off Australia until next January. The manager said that Jay is involved in some really important things here and should wait to go when he is not involved in so much stuff. Jay told him that if he waited until January, he would still be involved in a lot of stuff and nothing would be different.
We want to go and we are ready to go soon. Here's to hoping that some higher up doesn't say "no" to Jay going at all.
